Not edible

Well... I'm sure there is huge list of things that I will find in the upcoming months and years that are not edible... that my Nathan is going to try... but this morning I learned a valuable lesson... always put the baby soap/shampoo on the far side of the bathtub where little hands and fingers cannot get to them :) Because although they boast to be tear free... they are not gag and cough free when little ones decide to eat them for breakfast :) I told Gary... well at least he'll be clean... inside and out :) To all the concerned readers... no worries, it was only a 1/2 teaspoon or so... nothing serious... but seriously funny!

  1. Another reason to keep them out of reach...sometimes little hands knock them into the tub when you don't realize and then it leaks all over the place!

  3. Kaelea -
How right you are! I never would have thought to lay the ground rule.... no licking the bathroom walls :) So funny. But from the pictures and faces I've seen of your kiddos, I know they fill your life with so many precious stories and memories! God bless you guys and your work with PUMP. I know you may be going through a winter season there... but spring will come... spring will come. And thank you for being a HUGE encouragement to our Emily in her time there. You will never know... God bless you my sister from across the miles :)

  4. dee, i guess at least knocked into the tub, they're leaking where they're supposed to... but thanks for the warning because i would hate to lose part of my stateside baby shampoo stash in a man overboard situation :)

  5. kelly,
my heart goes out to you all in so many ways... as we are beginning the journey you all began years ago. i may be calling you in 5-10 years as we prepare to transition back home and ask you... how in the world did you do this? God bless you sister and God's blessings on your work in Benin! We're praying such big prayers of protection over you and your two little ones while the others are still away!

  6. Nice to regain contact. Not only had I lost track of you all but I discovered from your website that you are working with Denise's parents. I saw the name in your info and asked Denise today is she know anything about you and she said you were working with her Dad. It is a small world. I am now keeping up through your website.

  7. I was talking about Shelby knocking the bottles over when she isn't in the tub. Sometimes when I am getting ready in her bathroom she gets in there, knocks them over, and we don't discover for hours later. Big mess. Lesson learned: make sure bottles are shut tight and are kept in corner out of reach!

  8. It is so interesting what kids can find to nibble on. I am very supprised my children have not contracted some crazy disease yet. I try so hard to catch them, but I figure what ever dosen't hurt them -just makes their immune system stronger!

Soap all over the tub makes it VERY slippery the next time someone(child or adult) steps in. So be careful!!

My youngest likes to eat play-doh. Yuck! It's as if he thinks each color will taste different. He tries one, makes a face, moves onto another one to see if he'll like that one better.

You just can't take your eyes off of them for a second. They are sneaky little devils!

    Take care!

My kids haven't eaten many things like Nathan, but they have done PLENTY in the making messes department!! It's so great to share stories and know that we are not alone in this fun adventure called "Parenthood!!" Keep up the smiling!!

    Hey Laura,

My parents told me that when I was a wee lad I had an affinity towards Play-Doh . . . which actually explains a lot!
