Let the Christmas Carols Begin

And traveling all the way from Brownwood, TX to be here with us today, straight from the container to your front door... the Bull's Christmas tree! (and the crowd goes wild!) Complete with cookie dough ornaments from years long gone, our tree is up and ready for business. Mind you all the soft, kid friendly ornaments have inhabited the bottom 2 feet, oh how children change things! :) And although it's not snowing and there's no need for a jacket, we've got our Christmas tree up, our carols in the CD player, and presents already under the tree (thanks to Nana, Papa, and Auntie Em). So let the season begin!

I can just hear you singing carols through the whole house...I am still wondering where Thanksgiving went. This year has gone by sooo fast. I like your tree; we still have to put ours up.

  2. There is something about celebrating Christmas in another culture. Of course you miss all the family and friends, but there are things to see and do that would never occur in the US. Make the most of them and enjoy every moment. You continue to be in our prayers!

  3. How wonderful!!! We put up our tree last night and had our music piping thru the house, too! What great traditions you are starting for Nathan, even though you are far away!!

  4. No, that isn't my littlest brother, Jon who was the little chio beau. That is my brother, Jeremy in the picture. Jonas is his son. He and I are 18 months apart and even funnier is that he married a girl named Jennifer so they are Jeremy and Jennifer James. So, a few years after I lost the James part of my name for the Green, he married her and a new Jennifer James was added to the family!!! My littlest brother, Jon, is at HUF right now and will be home in a few weeks. I'll post some pics of him after christmas when he gets home...he is huge, too, but not as hairy!! he he he

I love it! Boy having a kid sure does change things doesn't it! But so much joy also.

Thinking of you in this first holiday season away from your biological family...

Someone we knew in Memphis passed away of cancer on Thanksgiving day and her best friend commented on her blog that it made it easier to know that what she loved about her friend was the holy spirit in her and it made a little easier to be without her when she realized the part of her that she loved was still present in her life in so many people and places. So I hope this holiday season while you are far away that you realize that what you love about your family is the awesome holy spirit that shines through them and that that is present with you now, even in
Cochabamba. What you love and miss is with you right now. Just in a different manifestation. I hope that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy...although I know Emily's actual smile is pretty hard to beat!!!
