Growing Up

Praise God again that we found a wonderful doctor here in Cochabamba. Nathan got his 6 month shots this week and has been doing great. Playing hard as you can see :) He continues to bring such joy to our lives and the Cochabambinos can't get enough of him and those big blue eyes.

Chaos

God is soooo good! What a blessing we had today! We were so blessed to have the opportunity to meet and go to the home of a Maryknoll lay missioner family here in Cochabamba. They have been here for about a year and are unfortunately heading back to the states. Today we were able to help them as they were able to help us and we participated in Cochabamba's rendition of a garage sale here in Bolivia :). We were so blessed to be able to buy things for our home (great beds for our visitors in the future, wooden file cabinets, and great new toys and books for Nathan). God has blessed with the funds to start our new home here in Bolivia and continues to bless us with ways to be good stewards of what He has given. Praise to Him always. You all will have to come and see it (and sleep in our new beds) as soon as you can! We love you all!

Last weekend was a very relaxing weekend. It was a much needed time of rest. The occasion for our getaway trip to Tolavi was Laura's birthday. We really enjoyed the springlike weather and beautiful flowers. In this video, I have included just a couple of clips of Nathan playing and talking with the "Spanish Parrots." He is really growing up...

Last weekend wrapped up our first two months in Bolivia. Language school is continuing to go smoothly. We have enjoyed our time with our Bolivian host family the Jordans and are looking forward to getting settled into our new apartment.

The Jordans

We love you all and miss you very much.

Nathan has a point, well, actually two

Well, it's official Nathan has his first two teeth. They poked through about 2 weeks ago and he's been cracking us up ever since. Because you see his little smile was so precious before, but even more so now with two little bottom teeth added to it. And even when he's crying, his daddy and I have to smile because they are just so cute in that big mouth full of gums. I think he's working on the top two as his poor face is so chapped from all the drool, so as I've been told by other moms, the fun has just begun.

Laura's Birthday

This tuesday marked 28 years for me. I have to admit I was not really looking forward to my first birthday in Cochabamba as I have gotten used to being able to spend
time with my mom, dad, and Emily around my birthday. But my husband and teammates made the day so very special for me. Last weekend Gary made reservations at a cabin outside of town and we were able to take Nathan and get away for the evening. The cabins and grounds were beautiful and such a treat. Then on tuesday after classes we came home to an apartment full of teammates waiting to celebrate with us. And celebrate we did, over cake, pizza and Nertz (which the men graciously played as it was my birthday and i got to choose). Julie had even taken the time to clean our apartment for me as part of my birthday gift. Now that's a birthday gift! So all in all, I am blessed, with a God who gave me life and wonderful people with which to celebrate. Along with the awesome care packages my parents have been sending, what more could a girl ask for?
