Solicited Advice PLEASE....

Okay my state-side mommies... I have a quick question for you. This will be short and sweet as we're in the middle of bedtime, but I was looking online today to try and figure out which baby swing is going to be worth carting back to Cochabamba and I'm a little overwhelmed with the many types and different feedbacks. So I need some feedback from anyone who has had a good, bad, or otherwise experience with a baby swing recently and the name of the swing so I can get started on buying one to take back with us. I have a small travel one that I used briefly with Nathan, but it only worked well up to a certain weight and then it was almost like I had to swing it myself to get it to go. Ideally I would love one that I could plug up and beyond that I'm not to picky. Thanks for the input! I'll try and update something a little more interesting later this week. Gary's got the flu and we're back at my parents, so I'm staying busy taking care of my three boys :) Please pray that Nathan and I and the rest of my family can stay healthy, it is after all the Christmas season that I've been looking forward to all year... it would be just like Satan to rain on my parade wouldn't it? Well, I refuse to let him... but prayer coverage would be much appreciated too :) God bless you alll and MEEEEERRRY Christmas!

  1. Hey girl,
I really have no good advice on a swing because all of my kids used the same one and it was bought over 6 years ago...I know dated, but at the time, it was soo cool and top of the line. Funny how things change so very quickly. I would go over to Babies R Us and just check them out. I always ask for their salesperson who is a specialist in that area and then I ask what is the top seller. Then you can go online to babierus.com and read the reviews. They really help. I've done that with stollers to carseats! Hope that Gary gets better soon. What is the take off date to go back? Not that I want ya'll to leave, just wondering for my own personal calender!

  2. Hey Laura, like Jennifer, I really don't have much advice in the swing department. The one we have is a Cosco one and probably wouldn't be worth getting and taking it back to Bolivia.

Hope the rest of the Bulls and the Wallace family stays well.

    Have a very Merry Christmas.

I got this swing from my sister-in-law and I love it. It holds up to 25 lbs and it is so compact (I hate the swings that take up half a room). I really liked this and my daughter loved it. It would be my recommendation. If the link doesn't work, it is called "Aquarium Take-Along Swing" by Fisherprice.

  4. We have a Fisher Price rainforest swing. It plugs into the outlet which is the main reason we went with it. It works well enough. The baby likes the mobile and the music is actually not bad. We used to have a wind up swing which wasn't bad. I just sold it not knowing that I was pregnant.

  5. I liked the take along swings that we had with Ian and Riley. It only worked up to 25 or 30 pounds and ran on batteries, but we didn't have to reeplace them too much. I have heard really good things aboput the rainforest swing that I ndie is talking about. I have been out of the "baby" loop for a while. Hope that helps.

  6. we've only ever used the travel swing mentioned by others and my kiddos were bored with it once they got mobile so we never used it to its weight capacity. While they did use it, we found it very compact and very easy to take back and forth to grandma's. I think walking thru Babies R Us is a good idea.

  7. Hi Laura,
I use this Fisher Price swing with Julie and she LOVES it. It was been a life saver for us. She still naps in it everyday. Hope that helps!

  8. I just realized that the link I listed didn't work right. The swing we use is the Fisher Price Nature's Touch Baby Papasan Cradle swing.
